We are looking for a Junior HR Business Partner, with progressive experience through Admin/Advisor levels, to oversee all HR operations for our team in Malta. You will manage the employee lifecycle from onboarding and performance management to legal compliance and offboarding, offering guidance and expertise across a broad spectrum of HR activities.
This is a hands-on role that requires working in a fast-paced environment with a range of people and collaborating closely with our HR team in the UK.
Location: Hybrid - at least one day per week in our office in Ta’ Xbiex.
Salary: Dependent on experience.
What you will be doing:
- Employee Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire employee journey for employees in Malta, from onboarding new hires to offboarding, ensuring a smooth and compliant experience.
- Legal and Compliance Expertise: Provide expert guidance on Maltese employment law, including disciplinary actions, grievances, parental leave, and work permits. Ensure adherence to local regulations and company policies.
- Work Permits & Immigration: Manage work permits and visa processes for new and existing employees.
- Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor to team leads and senior management, offering support on performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters.
- Policies & Procedures: Develop and maintain HR policies that align with both Maltese legal requirements and Push Gaming’s global standards.
- HR Systems & Data Management: Leverage HRIS tools (we use HiBob) to maintain accurate employee records, streamline HR processes, generate reports, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Employee Wellbeing & Engagement: Champion initiatives that enhance employee wellbeing and engagement in Malta, ensuring alignment with company-wide programs.
- Collaboration with wider HR Team: Work closely with the UK-based HR team to maintain consistent HR practices, share best practices, and address Malta-specific challenges.
- HR Reporting & Insights: Provide senior management with HR data and analytics, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
What experience you’ll bring to the role:
- This role would suit someone who has strong HR advisory experience and is looking to take the next step in their HR career.
- Proven expertise in advising on disciplinary procedures, grievances, parental leave, and other HR issues in Malta.
- A thorough understanding of Maltese employment law, including regulations on work permits, employee rights, and compliance.
- Proven experience managing the employee lifecycle, particularly onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes
- Strong experience with HR systems (e.g., HiBob), with the ability to efficiently manage HR data and workflows
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice and communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations and conflicts professionally and tactfully.
- Experience managing work permits and immigration processes for employees in Malta.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of Maltese is a plus.
- If you have experience managing HR-related issues across multiple countries, including Spain, Poland and UK, this is beneficial but not essential.
